Powerball Jackpot of Nearly $1.8 Billion Won in Two States
The second-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history has been won, with two tickets splitting the massive prize. The winning tickets for the $1.787 billion Powerball jackpot from Saturday's drawing were sold in Missouri and Texas.
The Winners
Each of the winning tickets is worth an estimated $893.5 million as an annuitized prize or a lump sum of $410.3 million before taxes. The Texas winning ticket was sold at a Big's convenience store in Fredericksburg.
The wins end a 42-drawing streak without a jackpot winner, dating back to May. The odds of winning were 1 in 292.2 million.
Other Prizes and Future Drawings
While the jackpot was split, other players also won big. Two tickets sold in Kansas and Texas won $2 million, and 18 tickets across 13 states won $1 million.
The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62, with a red Powerball of 17. The jackpot has now reset to $20 million for the next drawing. The largest Powerball jackpot on record remains the $2.04 billion prize won in California on November 7, 2022.
