No Winner, Just a Bigger Prize: Powerball Climbs to $1.1 Billion for Labor Day

The Powerball jackpot has soared to an estimated $1.1 billion after no one won in Saturday's drawing, making Monday's Labor Day prize the fifth largest in the game's history.

For a shot at the massive jackpot, players will need to beat the incredibly long odds of 1 in 292.2 million. The winning numbers from Saturday's drawing were 3, 18, 22, 27, and 33, with the red Powerball being 17. If a lucky player wins on Monday, they can choose between the full $1.1 billion paid out in annual installments over 30 years or a one-time cash option of about $498.4 million—both before taxes.

With no winner since May 31, the excitement for this jackpot is at an all-time high. "America has waited all year for the chance to play for a billion-dollar jackpot," said Matt Strawn, the Powerball Product Group Chair.

The current record for the largest Powerball prize is the $2.04 billion jackpot won in California on November 7, 2022.
